Clear Lake home destroyed by flames

A residential house fire Monday afternoon in the Oakbrook subdivision of Clear Lake caused extensive damage to the the home on Neptune Lane.
Only two people were in the home at the time of the fire – the homeowner and her granddaughter.
Neither was injured.
A witness at the scene said the fire may have been caused by a candle.
Smoke from the home could be seen as far away as the Gulf Freeway.
A nephew of the homeowner said, “They pretty much lost everything.”
According to the Houston Fire Department, the 9-1-1 call came at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, fire fighters called for extra units to battle the blaze.
