College is hosting inaugural women’s conference Jan. 9

Women will find exactly what they are looking for when it comes to balancing it all at Lone Star College-Montgomery next month.
The inaugural Women’s Conference in Montgomery County, “Balancing You: Harmony with Your Hands Full,” will be from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at the college, located off of Texas 242.
“Being a woman … our life is full of multitasking,” said Terri McCulloch, IRIS Growth Solutions owner and conference planning committee member. “The purpose of the conference is to bring some of the education to the women in Montgomery County that is available in major cities.”
Montgomery County Association of Business Women is co-sponsoring the conference.
“You don’t actually have to be a person in business because we have speakers on everything, such as balancing family,” said Carol Gooch, MCABW founder/executive director.
Jan Latiolais Hargrave will serve as the keynote speaker for the conference. Hargrave has authored a number of books, including “Let Me See Your Body Talk,” “Freeway of Love,” “Judge The Jury” and “Strictly Business Body Language.” This popular speaker and distinguished educator has been a talk show guest of The Lifetime Channel, Fox News, “The Maury Povich Show,” “The Montel Williams Show,” “Great Day Houston,” E-Entertainment Television and “The Ricki Lake Show.”
Other speakers include Bonnie Monych, The New WorkPlace Inc. president; Cindy Hide, attorney with The Law Offices of Cindy K. Hide, LLC; Donna Burnette, Tango Learning Inc. president; Flavia Schroeder, Spanish teacher and cross-cultural trainer; Jill Hickman, Jill Hickman Companies president; Kozhi Sidney Makai, Kozhi Makai Worldwide chairman and chief executive officer; Linh Perez, Teachers ‘n Kids Educational Services educational consultant; Marilyn Logan, of Marilyn Logan Enterprises; Marla Durden, New Story Enterprises president; and Skeeter Hubert, of High Point Financial Group.
“The speakers are bringing in tools to help women start the New Year off with a great start,” McCulloch said.
The conference will end with a panel discussion among Edie Connelly, Montgomery County Precinct 3 justice of the peace; Jo Mousselli, Xtreme Lashes president; Penny Westerfield, Lone Star College-Montgomery interim president; Karen West, The Woodlands Development Company general counsel; Karen Hoylman, The Woodlands Chamber of Commerce president; and Stephanie Marquard, Kingwood A/C & Heating president/owner.
Seating capacity is 250. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
