Symphony setspops concerts
The Clear Lake Symphony’s Annual Christmas Pops Concerts will be held Friday, Dec. 5, and Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m., at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 18220 Upper Bay Rd., Nassau Bay.
Tickets, which are available at the door or may be purchased in advance at Eye Trends, 515 Bay Area Blvd., Suite 300, are $10 for adults; $8 for seniors 55 and over; and $7 for students.

CCCT preparesfor holiday fun
Clear Creek Community Theatre actors are currently in rehearsals for their new production – The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
It plays Dec. 5-21 at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2:30 p.m. Sundays at the theatre at 18091 Upper Bay Road in Nassau Bay.
“You won’t believe the mayhem – and the fun – when the Herdmans collide head on with the Christmas story in this hilarious holiday favorite,” a CCCT spokesman said.
Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for seniors and students. Group prices also are available.

The public is invited to a very special holiday program at the Freeman Library in Clear Lake at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in the Community Room, when the Clear Lake United Methodist Church Handbell Choir presents a program of seasonal music.

Little Theatresets auditions
The Pasadena Little Theatre will hold auditions for Cheaters by Michael Jacobs and directed by Judie Valentine on Sunday and Monday, Dec. 7-8, at 7 p.m. at the theatre.
Two middle-aged men and women are needed and a man and women in their 20s.
All of the characters will be in funny, constantly changing situations and, while there is a lot of comedy, Valentine says there is also a very tender, vulnerable side to each character.
SJC to offerYule musical
The San Jacinto College Central Drama Department will present Santa’s Christmas Magic: The Musical Dec. 5-14 in the Powell Arena Theatre at the college in Pasadena.
Dr. Jerry Ivins is directing the musical, which will be presented Dec. 5-7 and 12-14. For information, call 281-478-3629.
TV’s birth topic of COM drama
A new American play that tells the story of the birth and promise of TV through the life of a young woman named Ruby is now playing at the College of the Mainland Community Theatre.
The story begins in 1927 when she struggles to realize her dream of inventing the first all-electrical television system.
Twenty-five years later during the Golden Age of TV, her daughter faces similar battles of will as she works to get Ruby’s story told on network TV.
A stunning technical achievement, The Ruby Sunrise promises to be a riveting evening of theatre. Curtains are at 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and at 2:30 p.m. Sundays Dec. 4-14. Tickets are $12, $17 and $22.
ACC to presentPearland play
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever will be performed at the Alvin Community College Pearland Center Theatre on two weekends in December.
Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. Dec. 6, 12 and 13; at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 7 and at 10 a.m., Dec. 11.

Storm imagesgoing on display
The Art Gallery at College of the Mainland will be showing images from Hurricane Ike by freelance Galveston photographer Calvin Wehrle through Dec 17.
The gallery will also be video taping personal recollections of the hurricane. Anyone with a story to tell can contact Janet Hassinger at 409-938-1211 or 888-258-8859, ext. 354. Taping is available Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment.
A copy of the stories will be donated to the Rosenberg Library.
