Group presents Ike roof repair seminar

Updated: 11.11.08
United States Public Adjusters announces a free educational seminar for all roof repair trades at the Stafford civic center at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8.

Learn about company and customers rights when dealing with insurance companies, and how to get fair, fast payment.

The massive destruction caused by Hurricane Ike, the third most destructive to ever hit the United States, on Sept. 12, has left thousands of homes in need of new roofs. Some insurance companies are balking at paying homeowners and commercial property owners enough money to complete repairs, leaving people struggling to get their homes and businesses back to normal.

Based on lessons learned from many hurricanes including Katrina, Wilma, and storms from the record-breaking 2004 season, U.S. Public Adjusters is presenting a free educational seminar for all roofing related trades. The featured speaker, prominent attorney William “Chip” Merlin Jr., of the Merlin Law Group, will be joined by former insurance company claims managers, independent adjusters and insurance policy underwriters as well as highly experienced Texas public adjusters.

Among topics discussed will be company rights and responsibilities under Texas law, and understanding Texas building code compliance and inspection requirements. Realistic contract pricing and properly writing and submitting invoices to insurers will be discussed.

Learn how to avoid costly delays in receiving payments from insurance companies. How to handle denial of payment for contracts that are submitted will be covered by top industry leaders. The Texas Matching Shingle and Tile Roof rules will be a topic. Helping clients get other Ike repairs paid for, and how to address unhappy or unfair customers will be explained.

This highly informative, free seminar will give companies valuable tools to conduct business in a post-catastrophe environment.
