The Pasadena Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying an individual who walked through the back door of a local fast food restaurant in August and took a bank bag containing money.
Vance Mitchell, public information officer for the Pasadena Police Department, said the theft took place at the Chipotle Mexican Grill in the 5700 block of Fairmont Parkway on Aug. 19 during the lunchtime rush.
“The suspect went into the Chipotle restaurant and stole a bank bag containing $250 in currency,” he said.
Officers were dispatched to the location and learned from the employees working at the time that a kitchen staff member saw an African-American man in the kitchen. Since no one of this description worked there, employees went to investigate.
“The individual is being described in his early 30s, bald, light mustache and goatee, brown t-shirt, tan shorts and black tennis shoes,” Mitchell said.
The suspect stated that he was there to check the CO canisters, so the reportee believed he was one of the vendors and went back to work, Mitchell said.
“A few minutes later, the kitchen staff notified her again and this time stated that he was in the office,” Mitchell said. “They kept the bank bag in the office, so they went to go check and sure enough it was gone.”
A camera was in the area of the office and the suspect was captured on video taking the bank bag.
Anyone with information about this individual or his whereabouts should contact the Pasadena Police Department at 713-477-1221.
