The Goody Bag provides all accessories needed to party
By JENNIFER SUMMER
Halloween decorations, Christmas ornaments and multitudes of party decorations line the walls of The Goody Bag as the store gets ready for the impending holiday season.
Besides the decorations, The Goody Bag provides customers with a variety of different decorations that could be used for anything from parties to teachers’ incentives to pre-made goody bags that can be handed out as party favors.
“We really try to provide our customers with a variety of different things they can use for parties and other get-togethers,” owner Tracie Quintanilla said.
Quintanilla started The Goody Bag four years ago after spending time beforehand volunteering at her kids’ schools.
While she was volunteering, she developed the idea to open a store like The Goody Bag where she could provide teachers with a place to pick up items for their classrooms and special treats for the kids without having to order through a magazine and await their arrival.
“Most of the items we have in the store are geared for kids, though adults could use them for a gathering if they wanted,” Quintanilla added.
She said some of her best customers are teachers in search of items they can use for carnivals or decorating their classrooms when they teach special subjects to their students.
They have a variety of different themes for the party accessories including a Western theme, sports, music, dance and of course, holiday-themed decorations.
“We have over 8,000 items in our store and most of our items are sold in bulk for a reasonable price,” Quintanilla said.
Besides decorations, The Goody Bag also has pre-made goody bags that can be purchased for an upcoming party and centerpieces made out of candy by Tina Penski.
The centerpieces Penski made for Halloween are already sold out and have been a hot commodity.
“We also carry and deliver balloons and provide pretty much anything our customer would want to purchase for their party,” Penski said.
With many aisles set up in the store, each one has its own theme, which helps the customer select a variety of different objects they could use for their celebration.
When Vacation Bible School is in session at churches throughout the community during the summer, The Goody Bag’s inspirational aisle is a big hit. They also have baby shower decorations.
Quintanilla is in the process of looking for a buyer for The Goody Bag, as she is going to try and leave the business for a little while to spend time with her children.
“We are in the process of possibly selling The Goody Bag, re-doing the store and moving a few things around,” Quintanilla said. “We enjoy being a place where we can provide customers with any party accessory they might need.”
