Friendswood Police Activity September 19 through 25, 2008
Burglary
Sept. 22 (6:14 a.m.) – A vehicle was broken into while parked at Village on the Park, 400 E. Edgewood. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. A window was broken to gain entry.
Narcotics
Sept. 24 (11:17 p.m.) – An 18-year-old Rosharon resident was charged with Possession of Marijuana. The person was a passenger and owner of a car stopped for a traffic violation in the 3000 block of FM 528. A search of the car turned up marijuana.
Sept. 24 (7:09 p.m.) – A 49-year-old Pearland woman was charged with Possession of a Dangerous Drug after being stopped for a traffic violation in the 400 block of Tanglewood. The woman and her passenger, a 28-year-old Belton man, displayed signs of being under the influence of an unknown substance. The woman was found to be in possession of Darvocet without a prescription. The man provided several false names before he was found to have an outstanding warrant through Galveston County. He was charged with Failure to Identify. Sept. 23 (7:48 p.m.) – A 20-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was reported as a possible intoxicated driver. He was stopped in the 1600 block of Keystone. While speaking with Green, officers observed a bag containing Xanex pills on the dashboard of the car.
Sept. 23 (9:03 a.m.) – A 42-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 200 block of S. Friendswood. He allowed officers to search his vehicle and cocaine was found in the car.
Sept. 19 (1:20 p.m.) – A 60-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Reckless Driving. The man was involved in a disturbance in the 4300 block of Ravine. He was stopped by officers as he left the scene in a vehicle and was driving erratically on Ravine. When officers checked the house where the original call was occurring, they found a large amount of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Vandalism
Sept. 19 (5:30 p.m.) – A vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Clubhouse was damaged when an unknown person keyed the vehicle.
Sept. 19 (8:21 a.m.) – A truck was damaged while parked in the 2900 block of Harvest Hill Drive, in Autumn Creek subdivision. An unknown suspect keyed the truck while it was parked on the street. The owner had unloaded a tractor from the truck to help with clean up in the area.
Family Violence
Sept. 24 (8:28 p.m.) – A 41-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury – Family Violence. The man was involved in an argument that turned physical in the 100 block of Woodlawn.
Sept. 21 (7:15 p.m.) –A citation for Simple Assault was issued to a resident following an altercation with his step son in the 400 block of Brandywyne. A verbal argument turned physical between the two.
Sept. 21 (2:26 a.m.) – Citations were issued to each party following a disturbance that involved shoving. The argument between a girlfriend and boyfriend occurred at The Reserve at Autumn Creek, 2102 W. Bay Area Blvd.
Driving While Intoxicated
Sept. 25 (10:29 a.m.) – A 54-year-old Friendswood man was charged with DWI after he was stopped in the 3500 block of FM 528 for a traffic violation. He failed a field sobriety test and registered .275 on a breath test.
Sept. 24 (2:41 a.m.) – A 31-year-old Alvin was charged with Driving While Intoxicated after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 3500 block of FM 528. The man refused to complete a field sobriety test and registered .167 on a breath test.
Sept. 24 (3:55 a.m.) – A 35-year-old Houston woman was charged with DWI after she was observed driving on Blackhawk Road during curfew. She failed a field sobriety test and refused to provide a breath sample.
Sept. 23 (5:00 p.m.) – A 23-year-old Friendswood man was charged with DWI after he was stopped for a traffic violation at the intersection of Stadium Ln. and W. Edgewood. Cross failed a field sobriety test and drug recognition exam.
Theft
Sept. 24 (7:19 p.m.) – A boat trailer was reported stolen from the 16400 block of Hibiscus. A boat had been attached to the trailer, but the owner found the boat on its side next to the curb.
Sept. 24 (8:44 a.m.) – A camcorder, jewelry and cash were reported missing from a home in the 700 block of Linson in Cowards Creek subdivision.
Miscellaneous
Sept. 23 (10:48 a.m.) – A 28-year-old Heritage Park man was charged with Attempting to Flee a Police Officer. The man was involved in a verbal argument with a family member in the 3300 block of FM 528. When he observed officers responding to the scene, he attempted to flee in a vehicle and then on foot. As he ran past a business, he was apprehended by an off-duty Houston officer and a responding Friendswood officer.
Sept. 22 (3:14 p.m.) –A 22-year-old man from New Castle, PA was charged with Evading Arrest. The man was observed on a yellow Suzuki motorcycle westbound on FM 528. Leddon was traveling at a high rate of speed and “popping wheelies” on the motorcycle. He failed to yield for the officer’s emergency equipment. Leddon finally stopped near FM 528 and the IH-45 feeder road.
Sept. 21 (6:46 a.m.) – A dog was shot in the 16400 block of Paint Rock. The dog was in the backyard when the owner heard it yelp. A vet advised that the dog had been shot with some type of buckshot or pellet. The dog is recovering at home.

Victim's information used to obtain electric service in Conroe. Victim has never lived in Conroe.
