Wells Fargo offers aid
Wells Fargo is offering special assistance to qualified customers affected by Hurricane Ike for communities in 28 Texas counties, including Angelina, Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Cherokee, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Hardin, Harris, Houston, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Madison, Matagorda, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Newton, Orange, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, Waller and Washington counties.
Wells Fargo also said the company is donating $125,000 to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund and $125,000 to the United Way of Texas Gulf Coast to help with relief and rebuilding efforts.
In addition, a new ATM functionality is now available allowing Wells Fargo customers to donate to the American Red Cross at Wells Fargo’s more than 700 ATMs throughout Texas. Customers are not charged fees for using the service and 100 percent of the donation is sent to the nonprofit. Customers also can make donations via the American Red Cross website at www.redcross.org or to the United Way of Texas Gulf Coast via www.unitedwayhouston.org.
“Like so many others, we are reaching out to help our Texas neighbors, friends, families and customers who have been affected by the recent hurricane,” said Chip Carlisle, Wells Fargo regional president for Texas. “We intend to work with each of our customers on an individual basis because we know that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. We want to help our customers satisfy all of their financial needs, especially at this time when they may be facing a difficult recovery from the hurricane.”
Wells Fargo customers impacted by Hurricane Ike are encouraged to contact their banker and to visit their nearest Wells Fargo store to discuss financial options. Wells Fargo has re-opened 88 of its 140 banking stores in the Greater Houston area today that were temporarily closed as a result of Hurricane Ike and is preparing to re-open all other banking stores in the next week.
Wells Fargo team members will work one-on-one with its consumer and business customers to explore case-by-case assistance. Affected customers with existing home mortgages should call to inquire about payment options available to eligible customers.
Wells Fargo Home Equity
Affected customers with existing home equity lines/loans should call to inquire about options available to qualified customers subject to Texas Home Equity laws.
Personal Credit Management
Unsecured loans ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 at a special rate are available to qualified customers in the affected areas.
Credit and ATM/Check Cards
All impacted Wells Fargo Credit Card, ATM Card and Check Card customers are encouraged to call Wells Fargo to discuss case-by-case assistance available to qualified customers, such as payment options, credit line increases, daily limit increases on Check Cards and ATM Cards, and fee waivers for Non-Wells Fargo ATM cash withdrawals. Customer service representatives are available 24/7.

Affected customers with existing home mortgages or other loans or lines through Wells Fargo Financial or auto loans through Wells Fargo Auto Finance should call Wells Fargo to explore case-by-case assistance.

Affected customers with existing merchant services accounts should contact Wells Fargo to inquire about payment options available to qualified customers.
