Information for League City residents

From staff reports
Updated: 09.17.08
Clear Creek School District will be closed until at least Friday, Sept. 19.

League City's water has been found safe to drink. The boil water order has been removed.

Residents who decide to return to the city on Monday are asked to bring enough food, water and ice to sustain each person in their party for up to two weeks.

Emergency personnel are conducting damage assessment.

League City City Hall will be closed until further notice. City events are also cancelled until further notice.

Power: Texas New Mexico power employees are aware of power outages within the city and are working to correct the problems. Officials ask that residents do not call the power company unless there is a critical safety concern.

Sewage: Many residents have reported sewage backups in their yards. The problem has been caused by power outages at the pump stations. The city is aware of the problem and is working to correct it.

Debris and trash: Residents should correct debris and put it curbside. Wood debris should be cut to short and manageable lengths for ease of removal. Residents should place debris away from utility poles, gas meters, water meters and other utility services.

The trash company is working to set up several trash drop-off sites set up for citizens by Monday, Sept. 15. This is for household garbage, not debris or brush. Garbage pickup will begin Monday, Sept. 15. There will be no recycling service until further notice. Check www.leaguecity.com for updates.
