Amber Alert issued for five missing children

The Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office has put out an Amber Alert for Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller and Wharton counties. Authorities are searching for Rhonda Tavey, 44.
Tavey is accused of kidnapping the five children of one of her friends. There are currently five felony warrants out for her arrest.
The missing children are all related and they and their mother had been staying with Tavey since their relocation to the Houston area following Hurricane Katrina.
Tavey has refused to return the children to the custody of their mother. She also is believed to possibly be in or on her way to the Dallas area.
The children are Alaysa Alphonse, 6; Eric Alphonse, 3; Erin Alphonse, 3; Rod Keesa Alphonse, 8; Yasmine Alphonse, 4. Tavey was last seen driving a blue or white 2004 Chrysler Town and Country van with the license plate number 963-PTB.
Anyone with information regarding the children, suspect or the van is asked to please contact local law enforcement or the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office at 281-376-3472.
