A car plowed into WingStreet Restaurant in Cleveland some time about 6:45 p.m. Saturday, sending two people to local hospitals.

According to Cleveland Police Officer James Primeaux, the man driving the ‘99 Buick Regal four-door sedan was traveling northbound on Washington Street when, for some unknown reason, he veered into the entrance of the restaurant’s parking lot, across the pavement and into the wall on the front of the building.

The impact sent glass and debris flying inside the popular restaurant and injuring a woman who was dining with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter.

The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time; however, she was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The 65-year-old male driver of the car was taken by air ambulance to Memorial Hermann in Hospital.

All of the victims are said to be from the Cleveland area. Due to the extent of the damage to the restaurant, Cleveland’s building inspector John Davis has ordered that the restaurant be closed until the damages have been assessed further.
